Andrea Love
Creative Director
Known all over the world for her brain-scratching needle-felted animations, Port Townsend-based Andrea Love is up to an exciting new chapter in her stop-motion career, and has assembled a local and national team to help her launch the world’s first felted stop-motion video game!
You may know Andrea Love’s work without even realizing it - as her Cooking with Wool videos have garnered over 5 million followers combined across Instagram, Tik Tok, and YouTube. Or perhaps you’ve caught her incredible short film Tulip, co-directed with Pheobe Whal. For the past decade, Love has been working on a range of personal and commercial projects and has created fuzzy and delightful reels for Hermes, Netflix, Disney, Hulu, and a suite of other big name brands. The indie video game project took root over the summer when Love met Andy Katsikapes, a game designer and fellow parent at her daughter’s preschool. She had long been looking for a way to take her short animations to a new level and had been researching video games as a medium, when suddenly, Andy knew how to make it all happen. A few tests, some creative brainstorming, and “Feltopia” was born.
Andy Katsikapes
Game Programmer and Designer
As an early innovator in augmented reality application development, Andy crafted the first-ever augmented reality synthesizer. After making a splash in the industry he leveraged this success to co-found a company that developed an augmented reality compositing software/hardware engine for live broadcasts. With a rich portfolio that includes hundreds of side projects and shipped products, Andy's expertise spans game development, engineering management, and extensive work with volumetric imaging, streaming, and software.
Eric Love
Game Writer
Eric Love (Andrea’s twin brother!) is a New York City based theatre director specializing in magical plays and epic musicals. From 2016-2022 he served as Director of Education & Associate Artistic Director for Northern Stage, a LORT-D regional theatre in White River Junction, Vermont. While at Northern Stage, Love directed countless shows, including the holiday productions of Matilda and The Railway Children, a world premiere musical he co-wrote. A storyteller above all else, Love cultivates innovation through collaboration.
Michelle Hagewood
Story Art and Production Assistant
Michelle Hagewood is an artist, animator, and arts administrator who loves creating fantastical worlds and creations in an array of mediums. She has worked on educational web, game, and programmatic projects at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Walters Art Museum, the Henry Art Gallery, and Centrum Foundation. Hagewood has exhibited her films, paintings, installations, and sculptural works all over the United States.
Hagewood has worked with Andrea Love since 2021 assisting with fabrication, storyboarding, and general administration of Love’s fluffy studio.
Peter Michael Davison
Composer
Peter Michael Davison is a versatile and multitalented composer, orchestrator and conductor with a diverse portfolio of award-winning international projects.
As orchestrator for Danny Elfman’s concert work and composer for animations such as Strike! (Amazon/ Apple) and stop animation Instagram sensation – Andrea Love’s Tulip, Peter’s ear for instrumentation makes him a formidable musician and composer. Peter has just completed composing for ITV – WACO untold: The British Stories, out on ITVx 13th April and is currently scoring US feature horror Wineville. Peter’s latest games score, Warped Kart Racers for Apple Arcade, featuring characters from Family Guy, American Dad, King of the Hill and Solar Opposites, is out now on IOS.
Richard Gould
Sound Designer
Richard Gould is an Emmy-winning sound editor with Skywalker Sound and has worked on major motion pictures and tv series such as Star Wars: Mandalorian, Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, among dozens of others. He's been a long-time sound designer for Andrea Love and will augment the feeling of the fluffy world with juicy sound effects as you poof your way through the world.
